Positively Wellington Tourism/Wellington International Airport
Angus & Associates worked with Positively Wellington Tourism (PWT) and Wellington International Airport Limited (WIAL) to investigate the feasibility of long-haul airline services direct from Wellington to a major hub in Asia. This involved an investigation of current passenger flows ex Wellington to Asia and Europe (volumes, seasonality and key market segments), and required detailed research with both consumer and trade in the corporate and leisure markets. Our work has contributed to WIAL’s business case for a new 787 service linking Wellington directly with key international markets.
YHANZ
Angus & Associates has worked with the Youth Hostels Association New Zealand (YHANZ) on various feasibility projects over the last several years; typically combining detailed analysis of secondary data sources with internal data and local knowledge to assess market demand for product extension and/or new product development.
Ocean Exploration Centre (OEC)
Angus & Associates has completed a feasibility study for the Wellington Marine Conservation Trust and its funding partners, as part of which we examined a range of product development opportunities for a proposed Ocean Exploration Centre (OEC) and associated pricing elasticity of demand in the residential, domestic visitor and international visitor markets. The OEC is a significant investment for the region and has the potential to become a key national attraction. This project included extensive secondary, qualitative and quantitative research to uncover public opinion and has been critical in guiding the Trust’s offering to market as the Centre has developed.
Rainbow Springs Wildlife Park - Redevelopment
As a key input to Ngai Tahu Tourism $10 million plus re-development of the iconic Rainbow Springs Wildlife Park, Angus & Associates undertook detailed primary research of the key domestic and international market segments. The expanded offerings of the park include a themed waterslide attraction ‘Big Splash’ and an outdoor 400seat, free flight bird show auditorium.
