Cristine has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Victoria University and an extensive background in planning, marketing and market research. Over the years, Cristine has held a number of senior marketing and management positions, including: - - National Manager, Consumer Marketing, Telecom New Zealand, Wellington
- Research Director and then Managing Director, Heylen Research Centre, Wellington
- Marketing Project Manager, Bank of New Zealand, Wellington
- Marketing Consultant, The Walt Disney Company, London, UK
- Social Researcher, Synergy Applied Research, Wellington
Cristine worked as an independent consultant from 1998 until she established Angus & Associates in 2002.
Cristine sits on the Board of Arts Wellington. She is currently or has previously been a Judge for the New Zealand Tourism Awards, the Market Research Society NZ (MRSNZ) Market Research Effectiveness Awards, and the Maori Business Awards (formerly the Maori Women’s Business Awards).
Carolyn Parker
Senior Project Manager
Carolyn joined Angus & Associates in 2005. She has a Bachelor of Tourism and Services Management (BTSM) from Victoria University, with specialist papers in tourism marketing, tourism planning, conventions and meetings management, and attractions and resort development. She has also completed a Principles of Marketing Research Certificate Programme through the University of Georgia.
Before joining Angus & Associates, Carolyn had worked in a variety of roles within the tourism sector, including: - - Three years with Qualmark New Zealand Limited, as Manager of Customer Service and Sales
- Two years with Fullers Group as Groups Co-ordinator
- A year as Assistant Manager at La Maison Chaudenay en Bourgogne (a boutique Bed and Breakfast operation in Burgundy, France)
Carolyn manages a variety of projects at Angus & Associates including the Regional Visitor Monitor.
Alex Beijen
Sales and Account Manager, get-smart
Alex has joined the team in August 2009, after working as Sales Manager for Copthorne Solway Park, and previously the Wairarapa’s Regional Tourism Organisation (RTO) since 2004. In previous lives, he has worked for Lion Breweries, Fuji-Xerox and run his own company in Christchurch.
Alex has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Lincoln University, with a PGDip in Property Investment from Sacramento State University, California.
Through his previous roles, Alex has a good understanding of the needs of tourism operators, and how A&A can add value to their businesses. He lives with his wife and 3 children on a small vineyard in Martinborough.
Christoph Guenter
Senior Project Manager
Chris joined Angus & Associates in September 2009. He holds a Master of Business Degree in International Tourism Management from Griffith University, Australia, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Auckland in Marketing and International Business, as well as a Diploma in Sports-and Tourism Management completed in Germany.
Chris has worked in a variety of industries and marketing roles in New Zealand, Australia and Europe, including marketing management, strategy and research in the tourism and leisure sector. Before moving back to New Zealand and joining Angus & Associates, he had worked as a Marketing Manager in the European leisure industry. Previously he was involved with the Gold Coast Tourism Corporation in the Market Research Department and during his postgraduate studies got to know his share of international celebrities and royalty, whilst working at the luxury Palazzo Versace hotel in Queensland.
Chris has a strong interest in destination marketing strategy, planning and research and works on a variety of A&A projects, including the Regional Visitor Monitor.
Amie Muir
Office Administrator
Amie joined Angus & Associates in March 2010. Amie has work experience in both the public and private sectors and has most recently worked within the Ministry of Economic Development. She is also undertaking a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Marketing and Economics extramurally at Massey University.
Amie’s role covers all administration aspects for Angus & Associates and get-smart.
Nick ThompsonMarketing & Brand Specialist
Nick joined the team at Angus & Associates in August 2011. He has a Bachelor, Honours and Masters degree in marketing, as well as a PhD from Victoria University of Wellington. Nick also has several years’ industry experience, having worked in a number of marketing roles within both the government and private sectors including:
- Marketing Communications Specialist, New Zealand Post
- Senior Account Manager, Young & Rubicam
- Senior Communications Specialist, Transit New Zealand
- Marketing Associate, Sport and Recreation New Zealand
With his PhD focussed on branding and customer relationships Nick is passionate about customer brand experience. He is also interested in engagement through traditional and online media, particularly as consumer channels of communication continue to evolve.
Nick is a born and bred Wellingtonian, most at ease with a coffee in hand and a view of the sea. When not concentrating on marketing, he can be found enjoying the city with his wife or training at the gym.
